Actor Patrick Swayze has died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
According to his publicist, Swayze died with his family by his side.
Swayze was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in early 2008. Doctors later determined the cancer had spread to his liver.
This January, he was admitted to a hospital for pneumonia, which was reportedly the result of his chemotherapy treatments.
Swayze was best-known for his roles in the films "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost" for which he received Golden Globe nominations.
Swayze is survived by his wife Lisa Niemi.
He was 56-years-old.
