Falling ice at the Cowboys Stadium injures seven at the site of Sunday's Super Bowl XLV. The incident was reported at 1:15 on February 4, 2011 when huge sheets of ice and snow falling from the stadium roof injured seven people on the ground 200 feet below. Five of seven people were transported to hospitals following the accident.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy issued an email regarding the incident and stated that "The ice and snow melting off of the Cowboys Stadium roof has caused several sliding snow falls onto the plazas. All stadium entrances have been closed except for the truck tunnel, which is away from the building by a very safe distance. All workers and visitors will now enter and exit through the tunnel until further notice."
The Texas location is dealing with record cold temperatures as Sunday's game approaches. Officials have secured areas surrounding the building to ensure safety.
